May 30th IDS vs. R&B Preview

IDS Defeats R&B in a Dramatic Victory!

As the rain dumped on northeast Ohio Friday night, there was a cloud missing over Softball World in Brookpark. The long awaited battle was originally scheduled to be played on Field #4, but instead fate allowed the match-up to be played on greener pastures (Field #5 that is).
In order to defeat R&B, Interior Design knew that superstition as well as strategy needed to be taken into consideration. When the game was moved to Field #5, Interior Design beat R&B to the first base dugout were R&B was headed to set up shop. Not only did this fluster R&B, but it prevented IDS from having the third base dugout which was regarded by the former members of Computer Quest last season as bad luck.

R&B quickly got back at IDS by winning the coin toss and electing to be home team. This set the tone for what would end up being a emotionally charged see-saw battle.

In the top of the first, the Red Bull charged ($27 later thanks to Jaime :) Interior Design drew first blood and made it 1-0.
In the bottom of the first, Nick took the mound for IDS to begin his long awaited quest to to defeat his rival Brett. However, Nick was littered with trash talking and failed to perform well under pressure. R&B kept their bats on their shoulders, racked up runs, and forced Nick to throw in the towel in the start of the third.

R&B and Brett led 5-1 in the third when Lloyd West made his IDS pitching debut.

Slowly the Momentum began to change as IDS rallied behind Lloyd's solid pitching talent.

Power hitting by Kevin and Lloyd (Both batted 5 for 5 on the night) enabled IDS to eventually close the gap and come with in two runs making it 7-9 going into the top of the sixth.

With one out in the top of the seventh IDS managed to steal the lead and went ahead 10-9. Interior Design was not done yet. Brett who had pitched a solid game for R&B to this point was stranded with no relief. Two more security runs came in making it 12-9 with two outs.

And then IDS unleashed the beast and opened up a long awaited can of whoop @$$ scoring 7 more runs with two outs!!

Brett and R&B were stunned!!!

As for the bottom of the seventh, it came and gone as R&B only managed to get 2 runs back. Late into the night and in front of a spot light crowd, Interior Design rallied a 12 run come back in the top of the seventh to defeat their rival R&B 19-11.
