Panini's
Upper Bracket Tournament Berth was Short Lived as They Fall
17-7 in 5 Innings to End the 2009 Summer
Season
After an unexpected rainout
forced Wednesday and Thursday make-up games, Paninis was rescheduled
to play 5th seed Molly McGhee's 1 instead of 7th seed Softball
Express on a Wednesday night. The impromptu match up proved
to be too much for the underdog Panini's as they get waxed
by 10 runs in 5 innings to end their playoff championship hopes.

In Panini's 4th close game
of the season things finally went their way. A strategic hit
to right field in the bottom of the 7th scored that allowed
the game winning run to score ended up being poetic justice
against the unsportsmanlike pitcher and the rest of McCarthy's
2. Panini's finishes in 10th place (out of 20) and .500 on
the season.

Panini's Loses a Heartbreaker
12-11 in the Bottom of the 7th Versus Islander Bar and Grille
Many things haven't been
falling in Panini's favor this season. Battling 3 innings with
an illegal ball and a slu of bad calls, Panini's was able to
extend the game in the top of the 7th by going ahead 11-9,
but couldn't seal the deal in the bottom of the 7th as Islander
comes back to beat them 12-11.

Panini's Comes Up Short
Against Their Ex SBW Foe McCullough Tax 19-1
Panini's proves that consistent games
builds their momentum. Looking like night and day from last
week, Panini's comes out strong but comes up short in the
end. Despite scoring 9 runs in the top of the 2nd and 6 in
the top of the 7th, they get no cigar in the end to lose
2 in a row falling under .500.

Panini's
Falls 18-1 to Concrete Works
Panini's 3 week break made game 6 feel
like it was their first game of the season. Their 3 game
win streak came to a commanding hault as they hit a brick
wall aka Concrete Works getting shellacked 18-1 in 5 innings.
Panini's 3rd loss puts them at .500 at the midway point in
the season.

Panini's is on a roll putting
up their second lop-sided victory 2 weeks in a row. Panini's
continues to move up in the league standings and may be the
sleeper team that other teams need to look out for.

A Rebuilding
Year Brings New Challenges
The 2009 softball season has gotten
off to a rough start with back-to-back rainout's, the loss
of a sponsor, and 4 key player absences on opening night.
With a new venue, new players and a potential new sponsor
the team needs to find its identity and has 2 weeks to
do it before their next game.
